Laois set to appoint former Kerry star Mike Quirke as new football manager

Former Kerry star Mike Quirke is set to become the new manager of the Laois footballers.
Laois Today are reporting the four-time All-Ireland winner is set to become the Kerry native to shoot the reins in a Leinster county before 2020, after Paul Galvin and Jack O’Connor took the Wexford and Kildare projects respectively.
Quirke will take over from John Sugrue, that oversaw promotions that are backend in the National League. Sugrue led the side to around four of those qualifiers in championships.
Quirke becomes the Kerry man to lead the O’Moore County in recent years, after Liam Kearns Mick O’Dwyer, Tom??s ?? Flatharta and Sugrue.
Even the Kerins O’Rahilly’s club man will aim to continue the progress made in recent times, as they look to consolidate their Section 2 standing in 2020.
